Bridgetown Market

bridgetown marketWhat is Bridgetown Market?

In Barbados ‘The Bridgetown Market’ is the biggest street fair of the Crop Over Festival. It is usually held on the last weekend of the season and is a favorite Bajan tradition. For three days the entire Spring Garden Highway in Bridgetown is converted into a hive of activities, and all attention is focused on this ‘sub-festival’ of the Crop Over Festival.

The typical Bridgetown Market features all types of Bajan products including local Arts & Craft, Fashion, and a variety of indigenous foods & drinks.
Both tourists and locals are attracted to the very colorful displays that are laid out in stalls and kiosks. The recreation of the Bridgetown Market in Atlanta on May 28, 2016 will take place in a highly visible setting that is immediately adjacent to the world-famous Martin Luther King Center for Civil and Human Rights.
Visitors will be free to enjoy both sights with minimal effort
